Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. One splash, one wall of steam, and most heaters are done. So we built this infrared heater to take it—IPX4 splash-proof, made for wet, humid spaces. Here’s the tricky part: it has to stay 100% electrically isolated while it’s cranking out heat. We solved it with a fully sealed quartz envelope and internal wiring that keeps every live part tucked away from the outer housing. No shortcuts. Just dry electronics, even when the air is soaking wet.
Power, Voltage, and Heat—Without the Overthink
At the heart is a tough halogen infrared tube. It throws heat where you need it, fast, warming surfaces quickly instead of slowly chasing the air. We matched the voltage to industrial and hard-wired home circuits, so it pulls current cleanly without tripping or straining the line. The tube length is chosen to hit the sweet spot—enough coverage for a zone, but not so much that you’re wasting energy. This is a high-density heater. It packs a lot of heat into a small footprint, so you do need to plan for the thermal load on nearby fixtures. Give it room. Let the heat do its job, not stress the materials around it.
Safety, Built Into the Details
We went with heavy-duty quartz glass because it handles the shock of going from cool to hot without cracking. Inside, the halogen element holds steady over time, so you don’t get weak, uneven heat as the unit ages. The IPX4 protection comes from a fully gasketed housing and sealed cable entries. And the R7s connector? That was intentional. It’s a secure, double-pole connection that locks in place, so it won’t pop loose. Even when you’re swapping the lamp, the live contacts stay fully recessed—no exposed terminals, no surprise zaps.
Who It’s For, and What to Expect
If you’re an engineer working in damp spots where moisture is always trying to get in, this is the kind of heat you can trust. The sealed design and recessed R7s terminals make it a simple drop-in when you’re replacing an old unit. Now, the trade-off is heat density. It’s compact and lights up fast, but it needs proper clearance and a fixture rated for the temperature it will create. In a bathroom, that means immediate, targeted warmth—without the electrical risk that comes with open-coil heaters.
