But here’s the catch: cramming all that power into such a small body means you absolutely need a solid cooling plan in your equipment. You’ve got to keep that ambient heat in check.
The choices that make it work
The tube itself is quartz, filled with halogen. That’s what keeps the filament stable and the output consistent, hour after hour, for thousands of them. And the gold coating? Totally practical. It’s not just for looks. It reflects the infrared energy back onto the target, which boosts efficiency and takes some of the strain off your electrical supply. The R7s connector is a straight-through, double-ended design. It makes wiring a simple, drop-in job on most standard fixtures. No fuss. It handles the high current without getting loose or arcing, and it keeps those hot spots to a minimum.
Where it shines in the real world
Out in the field, this setup is a workhorse. It’s perfect for things like PET blowing, thermoforming, and sealing packaging. The shortwave energy hits the target fast, so you get repeatable temperature control across the whole line. And because it’s only 300mm long, it slips into those tight spots where bigger heaters just won’t fit. The gold reflector is a real lifesaver. It keeps the heat on the workpiece, not on the parts next door. Just remember, with 2500W at 400V, your control circuitry and cooling need to be up to the task.
